“I couldn't live a week without a private library
- indeed, I'd part with all my furniture and squat and sleep on the floor
before I'd let go of the 1500 or so books I possess.” ― H.P. Lovecraft

Awright everyone, I know I've been a little lax on the blog here recently, well here's why: I, Ford W. Maverick, am working on a series of interviews and articles that may well land me a Gonzo Journalism Award. No, you didn't read that wrong. Not only am I, apparently, a journalist (it surprised me too), but it seems I'm not too bad at it (which also surprised me).

For those of you who don't know, the Gonzo Journalism Award honors Hunter S. Thompson, who is often referred to as the greatest living degenerate of the 20th century. He is a staunch advocate of alcohol, tobacco, firearms, drugs, prostitution and much, much more. Most of you reading this know Thompson from the Movie “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” if you know him at all. The movie, directed by Monty Python’s Terry Gilliam (the American in the group), featured Johnny Depp as Thompson and Benicio Del Toro as his attorney Dr. Gonzo. Based on the book of the same name, the movie features many cameos by famous actors as Thompson tear-asses across the west in search of the American dream. If you haven’t seen it, I urge you to rent it immediately. It’s good stuff with or without strong drugs. If you make it through that, then run immediately to your bookstore and buy his books dammit!
