“I couldn't live a week without a private library
- indeed, I'd part with all my furniture and squat and sleep on the floor
before I'd let go of the 1500 or so books I possess.” ― H.P. Lovecraft

Awright you pushy fuckers, I'm home already.

I've been up all night, I'm kinda wired, trying to unwind enough to get a few hours of sleep, but I realize that if I don't post this soon I'll just have to keep answering the same fucking questions over and over and goddammit, that's what this fucking blog is for.

As some of you have ascertained I have a new lady friend, with whom I spent New Years Eve which is also, as you regular readers know, the anniversary of my untimely demise.

Since so far EVERYONE has asked, YES Victoria is cool with it. We discussed it and both came to the conclusion that I (for reasons I'm not gonna go into here) should explore other relationships. And YES we came to that conclusion before I started dating the new girl whose name I won't be mentioning just yet.

I can reveal that she did find the kick-ass song in the video above though.

For now I'll just call her K.

So I pack my shit into the car and head to Columbus on the 31st. I arrive in town at about 8 PM, when I'd planned, and proceded to drive in circles for hours because MapQuest gave me shitty fucking directions. By blind fucking chance I happen to find Mike D's place, where I'd stopped a few days before on the way to picking up Rem-Dog at the airport.

I stumble into Mike's place 17 seconds before the ball hits bottom. I call K who comes to meet me at Mike's where we then spend the rest of the evening. I felt a little bad about that as Mike had explained to me earlier that he intended to spend a quiet evening with his girlfriend, but it didn't seem like a good idea to go home as K got just a bit drunk off of some bourbon Mike brought back.

Fortunately there was no vomiting.

Anyhow, we spent a nice evening and in the morning Mike made breakfast and we headed out.

So I show up to meet K's mother a day late after having her daughter out all night. Not the best first impression I've ever made, but far from the worst to be sure. In fact, if it doesn't involve a firetruck or a restraining order it doesn't even crack the top ten worst first impressions.

In any event she let it slide. Probably because it was New Years and things like that are to be expected. Shortly afterward we headed off to church.

Yes, I said church.

Yes, I knew it was a church when I went there.

No, I didn't come 'aflame.

To no one's surprise more than my own.

It was a Unitarian church though, so it probably doesn't count. It still looks and smells like a church though and that always makes me extremely uncomfortable and itchy. Could have been worse though. At least I wasn't in a suit this time.

Or a box, as was nearly the case six years ago.

Of course I'm in much better shape now, but I still kinda dwell on it. Especially this time of year.

Anyway, I survived another Deathday, getting lost, entering a church, and spent the next few days having a very good time.

And NO I won't be answering any questions about what I mean by that.

After all, I'm a gentleman goddammit.

Now I'm gonna get a nap.
